Incident alert settings for new watch zones include bushfire, grass fire, other fire, flood, damaging winds, storm, human health, earthquake, landslide, tsunami, beach closure, and shark sighting by default.
If you want to reduce the number of notifications you receive you may want to limit the types of incidents that you are alerted to. Follow the steps below to do this:
- Select your watch zone
- Select "Edit" in top-right-hand corner
- Scroll down to the "Incidents" section and expand the categories in order to turn off certain incident types (it will be grey next to it if the notification for it is off)
- Select “Save"
You can also set a smaller watch zone area; 0.5km to 2km watch zones are better suited to urban areas.
The "Filter" section will only turn off and on incidents that are currently displayed on the map.
