Some devices using older versions of Android (such as Samsung, HTC and Huawei) will require you to download Google Play Services so that you can register the device to receive notifications.
The VicEmergency app will notify you if your phone does not have this utility and will provide you with a link for downloading it.
To download Google Play Services:
- Delete the VicEmergency app and restart your device
- Using your device’s browser, visit Google Play Services
- Select the Install button and follow the instructions provided
- Reinstall the VicEmergency app
If the installation of Google Play Services does not resolve the issue, you may not be able to use the VicEmergency app until you upgrade the version of Android running on your device.
Newer versions of Android have Google Play services built in and will not require the app to be installed.
